General
Parcels2Collect will arrange collection and delivery of consignments through one of its sub-contractors. We do not come into a direct contact with consignments at any time.
The sub contractor reserves the right to refuse a service booking in case a consignment does not comply with dimension, content or other requirements, in which case a full refund will be given; all services are subject to availability and coverage.
If the consignment exceeds the limits required, the subcontractor has the right to refuse the collection/delivery and partial refund is offered (price - e-bay charges and administrative costs (10GBP) associated with the transaction).
Insurance Claims
All consignments have a free insurance coverage of up to 50 GBP, unless a sender arranges and pays for specified extended insurance coverage.
The sender must notify the Parcels2Collect of any loss or damage giving rise to a claim within 10 days of the date of dispatch of such loss or damage. In case of visible damage to the parcels an addressee must make a note on the receipt before signing and returning it to the subcontractor. If the Sender fails to do so, we shall not be liable for any loss or damage.
Parcels2Collect will mediate as appropriate between the customer and the carrier in insurance claims and general inquires. It is the duty of our subcontractor to investigate the claim and the outcome of the claim is entirely at their discretion.
If the parcel has been damaged, the item and its packaging must be available for inspection; otherwise the claim will be refused.
Insurance covers lost or damaged goods but not consequential loss. The following items are excluded from our insurance policy and should not be sent using our service.Antiques, artifacts. Cash, gold, silver or other precious metals and stones. Glassware, ceramics, china, resin and porcelain. Hazardous liquids or gases.
We will not insure items with insufficient packaging, or are larger/heavier then specified when ordering.
Collection
Parcels must be ready for collection by the date and time specified in the booking receipt sent to the customer. If parcels are not available for collection or collection/delivery takes more than fifteen minutes, a surcharge of 10 GBP may be applied by a subcontractor which will be passed on to the sender. If the customer no longer wishes to use the service they may obtain a refund of the amount paid for the service minus this surcharge.
Delivery
The subcontractor will make one attempt to deliver a Consignment during normal working hours. If a receipt at the relevant delivery point cannot be obtained, the subcontractor may attempt to deliver and obtain an appropriate receipt at an address close to the relevant delivery point. If the consignment has not been delivered, the Subcontractor will return its premises, after leaving at the relevant delivery point a request for the consignee to contact to make alternative delivery arrangements. If no such contact is made within a reasonable time the Subcontractor will retain the Consignment to the consignor at the sender’s cost. The same applies to parcels that are returned because of an incorrect or insufficient delivery address.
